Chapter Six Demonic Legends

A dark black rip in the very fabric of space inside a large garden in the city Bad-tibira opened. This went mostly unnoticed by the creatures in the garden, except for some of the twittering birds. These quickly flew away from the strange hole that had been torn in the once still air.

Through the strange darkness, an elegant leg first appeared, then the body of a beautiful woman. She had long locks of red hair that were now tied into an intricate weave that was tied behind her head, spilling over the side of her shoulder. On her face was a look of satisfaction as if she had just had a good meal.

She walked some distance from the rip in space and placed her hands on her hip. When a strong muscular looking man walked out of the tear. She said in a serious tone of voice, “I hope that you’ve remembered where the hunting grounds are. I would like to go there again!”

“Don’t worry, I have remembered.”

“Good. What's on the agenda now of the great city god, with many lustrous cities and empires under your control,” Ningal said with her normal sardonic sounding voice.

As Ahava started to walk across the grass through the trees toward his large house inside the yard, he stopped with a thoughtful look on his face.

Then he said, looking at the woman who was standing as if challenging to him, “I need to visit them and investigate the city as I link my power to their Ziggurat.”

“Let's get the bull-man, and then we can start using your...whatever you call this form of transportation. We can jump around and deal with the cities,” she said with eagerness.

Ahava looked thoughtfully for a second as he stood still, then he said, “No. I think that it will be best to make this journey a bit more mundane. I need to see what it's like living in the cities. I don’t want to announce my visit as their supposed god. Maybe it would be better to be just a normal traveling adventure’ in a group.”

Just then, from a doorway, into the house, appeared Shulgi. When he saw Ahava with Ningal in the garden, he started to jog over to them.

With a smile on his normally serious face, he said, “From what Etel-Pisha told me, you’ve had hectic last several days. We have the evening meal prepared, and you can eat if you want.”

Ahava smiled at the welcoming from his friend. He said with a look at the dragon that was in the form of a woman beside him. Then spoke with a smile, “It would be nice to have something that was not meat. Shulgi would see if you can get the adventures together as I have a proposition for them.”

“I’ll get some more food if you going to meet them. It would be better if we make a feast of it,” he said.

“Is Etel-Pisha in my house?” Ahava questioned.

Shulgi smiled and said, “Yes, even with all that's happened today, he’s back to all the clay tablets, and he’s reading.
